Services/Technology
ccrd is committed to providing our clients with the best and latest in MEP engineering services. Here is a listing of our current complement of MEP and commissioning services:
Mechanical Systems Engineering
Our mechanical systems engineering incorporates technical analysis of energy use considerations, available technologies, and environmental impact to deliver complete, well defined highly functioning mechanical systems.
Electrical Systems Engineering
Our electrical systems engineering seeks sustainable solutions that are practical and economical for both the long and short term. We provide valuable input to our clients regarding the use of new lamp technologies, lighting control strategies, and energy efficient products that can be incorporated into the electrical design while keeping budget and maintainability in mind.
Piping/Plumbing Systems Engineering
Our plumbing systems engineering is based on thorough analysis, design expertise, construction oversight, and site planning. We incorporate innovative solutions to water use, re-use, and retention when possible, maintaining our commitment to sustainable designs.
Sustainability
Our dedication to sustainability and “healthy” building design is rooted in all aspects of the work that we do. ccrd partners has over 50 LEED professionals on staff. Our commitment to sustainability and our dedication to our profession has enabled us to pioneer green solutions for even the most demanding industries. Using an interactive and participatory design process, we work with key stakeholders to create environments that enhance human health and productivity. Our expertise includes knowledge in water use, waste management, energy efficiency, day lighting, indoor air quality, passive heating and cooling, alternative energy generation, efficient lighting and mechanical solutions. Energy Solutions
Our energy solution’s mission is to improve building performance, thereby impacting both human and environmental resources. Through application of experience and expertise in the design and delivery of new high performance buildings and optimized energy utilization in existing buildings, we provide businesses with optimal financial performance. Maximizing building system constructability, performance and persistence while minimizing deficiencies and construction cost is at the core of our energy solutions. Our comprehensive energy approach includes consulting, conceptual development and analysis, and the implementation of corrective measures. In addition, we perform vulnerability assessments and analysis of energy security.
Commissioning
Our commissioning group adds structure, form, and substance to the process of construction. Our process follows ASHRAE, PECI, NEBB, and AGC/AABC guidelines. Our experience and background leads to improved procedures and guidelines for a proactive, continuous flow, daily approach to component verification, startup, functional testing, and system testing. This process provides quality, “as designed” functioning systems on time and on budget for the building owner. Our specific services also include design reviews both from a commissionability/constructability perspective as well as a more detailed full PEER review. We also now provide architectural envelope commissioning as well energy modeling of existing operations that support measurement and verification of operating facilities. In addition we align with the LEED process as outlined in the Pre-requisite and Enhanced LEED commissioning requirements. We also can provide forensic engineering services that augment our commissioning experience and provides owners an engineering versed means to analysis of field installation and operational issues. Our commissioning approach is service based and operationally focused. Learn More » Download PDF
Fire Protection & Life Safety
Creative design requires creative fire and life safety solutions. ccrd’s fire protection/life safety group provides these solutions through code consulting, building audits and surveys, fire protection system design, and litigation support. As active participants in the code development process, we can develop equivalent solutions and negotiate their acceptance with code officials. Building assessments lead to the development of effective fire protection master plans for renovation and expansions. Our performance-based designs for fire and life safety building systems assure the systems properly meet the fire safety needs and objectives of complex facilities. Download PDF
Master Planning
Our multiphase master planning process consists of an initial planning phase which identifies distinctive site issues that may impact MEP systems criteria. The second phase considers energy usage, and system lifecycle and flexibility. In every phase ccrd identifies design alternatives so the team can make appropriate decisions.
Lighting Design
We understand lighting can influence architectural design. Our ability to communicate design options to our clients is enhanced by the use of high quality rendered visualization and lighting calculations.
Data, Telecom & Low Voltage System Design
Our design approach begins with the understanding that the communication world is comprised of ever-changing technologies. Systems including horizontal and riser cable plants, communications rooms, and campus wide plant design for low voltage systems must anticipate growth and change to come. System designs include Nurse Call, Patient Monitoring/Telemetry, CCTV/Access Control, Security and CATV/SATV.
Building Due Diligence Evaluations & Inspections Surveys
Evaluating existing facilities requires a high level of knowledge on how buildings function. Our approach is to determine how the facility was designed and built to function; understand how the facility is expected to function, and evaluate the systems and equipment that are inhibiting that performance. To that end we provide a thorough investigation of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection equipment (as well as other related systems) and devices to identify performance capability and life expectancy.
Design Technologies
Autodesk REVIT/MEP Suite
ccrd has chosen REVIT as our software for 3D modeling and system coordination. Utilizing this model provides the team with a greater understanding of the systems and components within the building. This data is used to evaluate system response for various equipment configurations, reduce unnecessary redundancies and monitor energy efficiency.
Lighting Modeling
ccrd partners uses various lighting visualization and calculation software based on the scope of the study required. The software we rely on for the most advanced simulations is AGi32.
QuiCx
QuiCx is our Web Based Commissioning Documentation System that provides real time ability to track and monitor the commissioning activities and the associated documentation. This system provides electronic storage of all project information related to commissioning, including submittals and drawings, reports and meeting minutes, all testing forms and completed test data, issues tracking logs, training and Operation and Maintenance information.
