LEED® Gold Certified

ccrd partners provided lead commissioning services for the Advanced Micro Devices Lone Star Campus. The 860,000 square foot project was constructed on a 59-acre tract to consolidate its Austin based design and administrative staff.

Working with environmental and landscape experts, Architect Graber Simmons & Cowan proved a commitment to sustainable building principles: confining the buildings and roads to the smallest and most habitat-favorable locations, incorporating model energy and material systems, and harvesting rainwater from the rooftops. Each building roof collects rainwater in a series of cisterns with a capacity totaling 360,000 gallons which is used for irrigation of the site’s 100% native landscaping. Overflow from those systems is collected in a 1.1 million gallon underground tank that provides some of the makeup water for the campus mechanical system cooling towers. Expansive glass with solar shading allows controlled daylight to penetrate the open office areas and provides visual access to the natural setting.

The project included a 5,400 ton Central Utility Plant and 4 Mw UPS system in each of the four campus electrical design and testing buildings.

ccrd partners/Glumac Joint Venture provided Enhanced LEED Commissioning. The project team delivered the Schematic, Design and Contract Document review as well as providing the local construction and warranty phase commissioning for the project. The Commissioning team conducted all commissioning meetings, reviewed all RFI’s and ASI’s, monitored the construction progress, provided functional and witnessed Integrated System testing.
