ccrd was involved in the commissioning of this LEED® Platinum Certified facility as part of British Petroleum (BP) expansion in the Houston area. With the construction of their Westlake Campus, BP needed a commissioning resource they could trust. The facility was constructed with a sustainability goal of LEED Platinum, a first for new office construction in the Houston metropolitan area. The buildings primary use is to provide more trading floor and office space and support BP’s Integrated Supply and Trading function and associated businesses. The master plan called for 378,000 of Class “A” office space located on 7 floors and a parking garage of approximately 700,000 gsf with room to park 1,800 cars.

The facilities are supported by a co-gen Combined Heat and Power (CHP) central utility plant located adjacent to the parking garage. The CHP utilizes a 4.6 MW solar turbine generator. The waste heat is recycled to provide absorption cooling for the building. The electrical and mechanical systems serving the building are completely redundant N+1 on all devices.
