PARKVIEW HEALTHCARE

New construction of a 800,000-sq-ft, nine-story replacement hospital for Parkview Regional Medical Center, supplying 430 beds to the surrounding communities.

This new facility includes a brand-new, state-of-the-art core hospital and central plant, as well as specialty centers for heart, neurosciences, oncology and orthopedics. Parkview Regional Medical Center was designed with a focus on patient care and incorporates best practices from across the country. A defining goal of the hospital is to “Embrace our Community and the Environment” and to pursue sustainability.

Site design includes a water control/filtration system of rain gardens, with natural plantings that provide filtration of storm water and allow a higher proportion of the storm water to return to the water table. Energy efficient window systems will provide abundant daylight views in the patient care and public areas, and the combination of energy efficient boilers and chillers with state-of-the-art building control systems will reduce the energy load for heating and cooling the facility.

ccrd partners is using Building Information Modeling for all above-ceiling trade coordination and clash detection. Having a fully design-coordinated BIM for MEP helps to reduce many of the risks associated with construction coordination of healthcare industry projects.

As the Commissioning Authority ccrd’s scope includes systems documentation and testing during construction. All documentation is with our electronic web based System (QuiCx) using field tablet computers for real time onsite testing documentation.
